Research Assistant

Job Summary

The Research Assistant will have primary duties of supporting the Equities Strategist.  He/she will collect and process data related to the Thai economy and stock market, help in preparation of reports and presentations and handle client requests.  Secondary duties will include similar support for selected stock analysts and help in maintaining the department’s database and online portal.

Role and Responsibilities / หน้าที่ความรับผิดชอบ

•    Work closely with the Equities Strategist in preparation of reports of relevance to the broader stock market and stock and sector strategy.
•    Data searches and data processing will be a core responsibility.  Data will largely focus on the Thai economy and stock market but will at times include analysis of regional or global issues.  Data sources include subscription services and public sources.
•    The Research Assistant will aid in formatting and preparing strategy reports. 
•    Primary duties will focus on equities strategy, but when the strategist does not require support due to travel or leave, the Research Assistant will provide similar support in data processing and report preparation for one or more stock analysts.
•    The Research Assistant might also be asked to help in maintenance of databases and the department’s online portal.

Qualifications / คุณสมบัติ

•    Financial markets experience is a positive, but fresh graduates are welcome.
•    Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics or a related field.
•    An advanced level of Excel proficiency is expected.  Pre-existing knowledge of subscription data services is not required, but a capacity to learn new systems is critical.
•    Fluency in English and Thai is necessary.
•    Interest in a career in Finance, a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork are required.
•    Some level of flexible working arrangements can be considered.
